Tifloloski Museum

The Tifloloski Museum is one of the few specialized museums that deals with issues related to people with disabilities, mainly those with visual impairments. The main initiator of the museum's creation was a teacher named Vinko Bek.

The beginning was in 1888 when he started collecting items for his private collection called "The Croatian Blind Museum." The museum was only opened in 1953 on Bosanska Street. After that, it was relocated to a new building in 1959 where it is still located today, on Draskoviceva Street 80.

The aim of the Tifloloski Museum is to acquaint society with the difficulties that people with disabilities face in everyday life in the community. The message of humanity that the museum conveys communicates the unity of society and removes negative stereotypes that society has towards people with disabilities.
